A Relaxed Wedding in Lory State Park, CO

You checked your phone, it’s 2:30. The right side of your face rolls a bead of sweat. The left, pure heat from the sun. It’s the middle of July in Colorado. As you take a drink of water, you see a field of tall grass surrounded by foothills of the Rocky Mountains. At the center is Horsetooth Reservoir’s water meeting the horizon. Above it, nothing but blue skies. You’re not sure how far in the distance you can see but you know it’s gotta be a couple hundred miles. As you set your water bottle at your feet you feel a light breeze. It floats a few flower pedals down the aisle dropped by the flower girl. You’re sitting in a little white chair at Soldier Canyon Event Facility in Lory State Park taking in this amazing scenery. Throughout the next few minutes you’re not sure if it’s sweat you feel rolling down your cheeks or tears. You’re witnessing Nate & Lauren celebrate their love today in front of family and God. You heard the officiant say “let love be genuine” and thought how fitting that was for them. You see it on their face and you feel it in their presence. Love. You wipe the tears from your face and chat about how beautiful their ceremony was on the car ride to Club Tico in Fort Collins for their reception. At the reception you enjoy catering from White Paper BBQ (a Loveland hidden gem) and dance your ass off with music from DJ Channell. An amazing day to celebrate a love story.
